For Week 11...

No blog. Bring your final project and all other recordings, mixes, samples you have created to class on CD. Give me two (2) copies of this CD.

In your final, show your process and give some kind of graphical representation of your environments (or game worlds in the case of Jason).

Address the packaging that your CD is delivered in, never overlook a design presentation opportunity.

Off you go.

Blog for Week 10 and Homework...

Blog: Describe in this blog as vivid detail as possible your favorite sound. The most pleasing sound you can imagine. Bring to class next week a recording of this sound or whatever object(s) needed to produce this sound to share with the class.

Deliverables for all exercises and projects: I will need these in CD format. Two copies of everything for two separate archives. Week 11 along with final (also two copies).

For class next week: Bring everything you need to work on the final project in class. I want to see the work in progress. Plan on showing the space(s) you are creating sounds for graphically as part of your project. I will bring project samples.

Off you go.

Blog for Week 9 and homework...

Finish your remixes and create podcasts for class next week. Also, update the links on what the artists from the "Remix Planet" article from Wired magazine are up to currently.

The blog subject this week should be on Interactive Acoustics which will hopefully be of some use to your final project.

Remember for turn in on Week 11, I want a CD of everything you have mixed or recorded this quarter in addition to the final project design package. Think about the presentational aspects of your packaging for your final.

Off you go.

Blog for WK 8 and assignments....

PODCASTING!!!

Find articles relating to the subject. Find tutorials you can use in class next week to build one. Do you have a website? Get access to your school provided one if you don't, so that you can create an actual podcast for your own use.

www.bigthink.com

Does this website relate? What do you think about it? It launched this past November. What are its pros and cons?

Assignments from class:

In Class Exercise/Complete for Homework

Remix Your Own

Part One Description: Sample four different songs and process them together to sound as unique as possible from the original songs. The final track that you create should be a minimum of 3 minutes in length. The original four samples do not have to be the only sound sources used for this exercise.

Part Two Description: Record four random sounds and process them together to sound completely unrelated to the original sounds. No evidence of any of the four sounds should be apparent in the final render.

And a heads up: for this exercise and all others you do for the class that involve audio recording, processing, playback etc. create a CD of all your work to turn in along with the final project on Week 11.

IF YOU HAVE NOT ANSWERED THE DMCA QUESTIONS AND PLACED IN THE DROP OFF YET. YOU ARE LATE. HARDCOPIES TO ME ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE.
